My Inner Narcissist

Yesterday, I went shopping for shorts for our trip to Texas. I was at Nordenstroms and I happened upon some Citizen jean shorts. I have always wanted a pair of these but, come on I am not paying $165.00 for a pair of shorts. Miles said I could buy a pair of jeans for my anniversary gift but, never got around to it.

So, I grabbed a pair and headed to the dressing room. I thought why are you even trying them on there is no way you are going to buy shorts for this much (maybe if they threw in the rest of the material for the legs). I turned off my conscience and slid them on. Wow! I could not believe how good they looked better yet I looked good. And, my butt people-it was looking ten years younger!

I thought surely Miles would appreciate my little behind in these. I took them to the check out and the blonde beauty behind the register rang them up. I heard her say the total and reality set in. I smiled and told her I needed to try them on one more time.

Again, they looked amazing! All awhile I was having the debate. Do they look good because they are expensive or are they really that much better than other jeans and that is why they cost so much. In the end I decided that it didn't matter why they looked so flippin good, I couldn't pay that much for so little material (my mom would be proud-that bargain hunter little minx).

But, the story has a happy ending! On my way out I remembered about Plato's Closets (a second hand store that only take in fashion clothes) across the street. I parked my car and walked into endless rows of jeans. I found my section and there they were hanger after hanger of these darn jeans with less than half the price. At this moment I was greatful for spoiled little tinyboppers who get what ever they want and cash them in for the lastest and greatest. They were so cheap I even threw in a pair of Sevens. Oh, happy day for my frugal heart.

I bet you looked great in those jeans. So glad you had success though at Plato's.
