I saw this picture and thought it depicted a little bit of how I feel. Maybe, not a full blown break down but of course I am disappointed. I wasn't really surprised though, but now it is official.
I am trying to look on the bright side and see the positive. We did have record number of people voting, mainly in the African-American community. Another positive is republicans can't be blamed for everything now that we have a democrat for president and they hold a majority in the Senate and Congress. The mainstream media should start saying positive things about our country. Hopefully this will give the Black population some comfort and give them a little restitution.
I promise not to talk politics(unless something really crazy happens)for a long while. I love my country and as long as our new President follows the constitution I will respect him and the office that he holds.

Amy, good news, Prop 102 passed in Arizona and Prop 8 passed in California (marriage issue). So that's some great news!
amen! well said.
It'll be OK.
It'll be OK.
It'll be OK.
Am I convinced?
I am probably your only friend on here who thinks the opposite! I was so happy, for many reasons. I don't know why so many people are worried that he won't follow the constitution -- he was a Professor of constitutional law! I think it is important to not reduce it to a 'black' victory, he is as much white as black, which to me embodies the beauty of America, others used it but he did not. It makes me hopeful however for our country that we have come so far from the civil rights movement. (My fav quote is Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther King Jnr could march. Martin LutherKing Jnr marched so that Barrack Obama could run. Sorry I am slightly obbsessive over the civil rights movement!!)I think and I do not mean you, that it has revealed a bigotry in many people concious or unconcious. Also it has done wonders for our foreign policy already. I hope all your fears can be alleviated and you can look back on his presidency as a time of positive change. Glad for the chance of some political debate! It really is the first time in my life that I have respected a leader! (they were all crazy in Ireland!) Lets not forget Obama's Irish roots! HOw can we go wrong with that
P.S. I love your blog amy!!
