Through My Adoring Eyes
If only you could see yourself through my adoring eyes,
If, by some grace, your spirit took my body in disguise.
If visions of your sweet, sweet smile could travel to your mind,
Captured by my point of view what treasures you would find.
Now look! A woman, fair and strong! Full of life and cheer,
Her movements; fluid, quick to charm, her laugh, a song to hear.
A mother’s touch to heal her child, she’s patient, always near,
A word of love, a soothing hand to brush away a tear.
She leads my children in the truth. She teaches them to pray.
They follow her. They watch and learn, improving every day.
Her mind is sharp, her wit is hot. She doesn’t hold her tongue.
She says it how it aught to be. She sings the truth unsung.
Her talents are invisible, or so she likes to say.
To me they shine, magnificent, bright as a summer day.
Tending plants, exotic foods and glorious designs,
The art of making beautiful. A lover of all kinds.
She’s thankful, but unsatisfied. Her search will not relent.
Only when she is her best, will her soul be content.
She dresses well, knows what she likes, enjoys the best of life.
She loves her man and treats him right, she likes to be his wife.
My fashionista-beauty queen, my lady at the well.
My Texas-Aphrodite, my Venus-southern belle.
Angelic skin and olive arms, her silken hair alight.
Hazel eyes, green and gold. Cool finger tips at night.
Her glowing face and ruby blush, the lips of a china doll.
They’re parted, pink, and full and lush, glistening, they call.
I’ll always worship at her feet. Her swaying hips divine.
Behind her, kissing at her neck. Her body melts in mine.
To lift me up, to heal my soul, to help me on my way,
To guide me on this road of life, I want her every day.
That’s the woman that I love. She’s more than you can see.
She’d strike you as a heroine if only you were me.
If only you could see yourself through my adoring eyes,
You’d stand amazed at my pure love. You’ll always be my prize!
To Amy, with love.
Miles
